What will feel familiar
Click to walk
You click a spot on the floor and your character walks there. Double-click a chair or sofa to sit down.
Speech bubbles
Type in the bar at the bottom, press Enter, and everyone in the room sees your line above your head.
A room of your own
Open the shop, pick a piece, press Place and click a spot. Press R to turn it first. Only rooms you own can be furnished.
Public rooms
The Plaza, The Coffee Bar, The Cozy Corner, The Reading Nook, The Garden Lounge, The Grand Hall and The Long Bar are open to everyone. The map button shows where people are right now.
Friends and trading
Click a player to see their profile, add them as a friend or trade furniture. A teleporter links your room with a friend's room.
A jukebox
A record player plays its discs in order for everyone in the room. Records are bought in the shop.
What is different
One look, on purpose. Everything is a warm cafe at night: lamps, sofas, counters, plants. There is no hotel lobby and no pool.
Beans are earned, not bought. You collect them by chatting, coming back each day, placing furniture, taking a fortune cookie in other people's rooms and finishing achievements. They pay for furniture, displays and records.
It is made for people who build things. Your room can hold a project stand with a short pitch and links, picture frames and a Q&A board for visitors. See the page for indie makers.
Bots. A barista bot greets you in the public rooms. Write @ and its name to ask it something. You can hire one for your own room.

What to expect, honestly
Midnight Cafe is new. Habbo has been running since 2001 and has a huge history behind it. Here you will find a small, friendly place that is still filling up, so a room may be quiet when you arrive. The map shows who is in which room.
It is built for a computer with a mouse and keyboard. There is no download and no phone app.
If you want the original, Habbo is still online and owned by Sulake, part of Azerion (see Wikipedia). For a longer list of similar worlds, read free virtual world games you can play in a browser.
